If I had to narrow it down to just one, Twister. But there are so, so many. Almost all the old WWII movies that aired on TV in the late fifties early sixties, especially the naval ones, with Strategic Air Command probably at the top of the list.

The Enemy Below ---- classic battle of "wits"
Islands In The Sky --- excellent character study flick!
Strategic Air Command -- best air sequences!
Twelve o'Clock High --- 'nother good character study flick!

As far as all out realism, nothing beats Saving Private Ryan!  The first time I saw it I realized I hadn't breathed for the first 20 minutes!  I was literally transfixed!  (My uncle earned a Siver Star w/clusters on Normandy!)

It was an excuse for Steve McQueen to drive some very fast cars, with a very loose plot!

Superb film, in the days where you stuck cameras on a car, set up a few stunts, entered the race, and filmed it! Smiley They did the same in Grand Prix, with a Ford GT40 and F2/F3 cars loaded with cameras in the opening laps of several GP, trying to keep out of the way of the cars in the race. Smiley
