It was an excuse for Steve McQueen to drive some very fast cars, with a very loose plot!

Superb film, in the days where you stuck cameras on a car, set up a few stunts, entered the race, and filmed it! Smiley They did the same in Grand Prix, with a Ford GT40 and F2/F3 cars loaded with cameras in the opening laps of several GP, trying to keep out of the way of the cars in the race. Smiley
