Hi,
This is the first time I try to repaint an aircraft , and need some help. i see that most texture files are in extended bitmap format, and cannot be read by normal windows programs. ok I have a converter that cinvert them fo normal 24 bit BMP.
Q1) after I edited the texture, do I have to convert them back to extended bitmaps, or will normal BMP files work?
Q2) when saving the bitmap in photoshop, I have to choose the bit setting. wil 32 Bit work, or not? and what is really the difference?
I will appreciate any help
Thanks

Yes

Don't think so

The extended bitmaps used by flightsim contain 8 bits each of red, green, and blue[edit.]per pixel[/edit]. The remaining 8 bits are the Alpha channel that controls reflections. The programs that convert .bmps to something usable in FS actually combine 2 seperate images (the RGB image and the Alpha image) into one. I don't think Photoshop can do this. At least I know PS6 which I use can't.
Hope this helps,
Joe
