I'd say Alonso is a better wet weather driver than button. Hungary 2006 for instance, his First lap made senna's 93 donnington one look ordinary.
He just doesn't have the car right now to make use of it.

Here's to hoping both Vettel and the Australian's* engines go up in smoke. Twice. Grin

*now he's a winner, and a potential threat to Button, in true Wallaby and Pom bashing fashion, is no longer referred to by name! Grin And we won the cricket. Wink Cheesy Grin

Webber
Kimi
Lewis.

I'm not even slightly confident of this weekend. The Brawns look pretty poor, but then they have a habit of finding the extra time between FP3 and qualy so who knows.

This is going to be without a doubt a brilliant race.
I think looking at fuel, That force india could be on for a possible win, at the least a podium. For cars with Race pace, Kimi is without a doubt based on fuel looking very good. Its basically between him and Rubens if they can get through the first corner safely.
More importantly this weekend should have cleared up a lot of things for the teams in terms of car designs. The fact the the FI's the BMWs and toyotas were so much quicker in the middle sector to me suggests their biggest problem this season has been perhaps too much downforce thats just not efficient for the higher speed tracks, and the guys like, Ferrari, Red bull, Brawn, seem to have much more efficient aero, but perhaps just lacking a little in how much downforce they can produce. It's the only thing that can explain the 6 to 8 tenths differance.
Jenson seems to be the luckiest man alive. These are the sort of situations the Red Bull should be capatalising on to give them the title. Ferrari/ Kimi did it in 07 when Macca gave up the 30 points lead through mistakes. I'd say Button is now within touching distance of the title. Whether or not he earns it though in the 2nd half of the season is another matter entirely.

I must admit I liked Lewis' comment after qualifying.

Something along the lines of "Not perfect but we can have some fun with KERS back there"

Fun. Brilliant.

something I failed to take into account that could help Fisi if he has a good start. The Trulli Train. KERS or not, the guy would be impossible to pass in a ford fiesta. If Fisi can use that to open up a good gap, it may not matter how much fuel others have.

Fantastic race.
Excellent job by Fisi, and once again the title contenders looking like a joke.
Fantastic to see Kimi winning, and not to be considered too crazy, but 2007 kimi made up 30 points in 3 races, he's only 38 behind with 5 to go. Few more like today... Okay maybe thats a bit too optimistic. Grin

Jenson is the luckiest man alive, once again. That could have been much much worse.

You must have been wearing your Ferrari blinkered goggles Craig... it was hardly a great race.

No significant overtaking and Kimi only won because of his KERS.

A boring race in my opinion.

Perhaps, but tell me for instance as a lewis fan his win at hungary wasn't exciting. Yet that wasn't a brilliiant race, same goes for a fair few of Jensons wins once the shock factor wore off it became a 2004 like snooze fest.
I thought from a tactical viewpoint it was fascinating. Could Fisi go the extra lap he needed to have the clear air to pass. Would Vettel have enough pace to make it difficult.
Yes KERS has given him the advantage but thats the point of it. Both Ferrari and Mclaren have gone through a lot of pains and problems getting it to work properly, but now it has, its helped deliver victorys to both Lewis in Hungary and now Kimi in Spa. The last few races the FOTA teams have gone from a "we will ban it next year" to Red bull, Brawn, FI and so on all saying we'll have to run it. I hate the thought that KERS has given an artificial victory. No it hasn't, it was an option to give a car speed in return for the side track of developing it. I cant believe for one second, Mclaren and Ferrari would have been this far back had they not gone with the idea. So its finally paying off Smiley
