WINNERS, WINNERS, WINNERS

Judge Aussiewannabe says :

"First of all, thanks to all who made this JC Contest very memorable for me. Braniff was truly a one of a kind airline that made a deep impression on me when I was young.

In first place,"

Skoker!!

...

"Jordan gets up close and personal with this magnificent BI paint. For me, it conveys two meanings. First, the unfocused background shows Braniff finishing its very last flight, standing alone on the tarmac, awaiting its fate as it fades into aviation history. Second, the extended (and lighted) staircase loudly states, “Welcome aboard!” Of course, let’s not forget that gorgeous sky!"

CONGRATULATIONS Jordan!!!!

"A well deserved second goes to Mitch."

...

"I have to admit lime was probably the least favorite color of mine from the “jelly bean fleet”. However, Mitch does a top notch job with this shot. The lime colored BI 727 blends in perfectly with all the other colors as the screenshot projects a true splash of colors.

Well done, Mitch!"

"Third place is.... A Tie Again!

Wafu448

...

This is a truly fantastic shot. What a moment that must have been for Braniff to make the transition from the prop age to the jet age. As for the text, the choice of font as well its placement (along with the artwork) gets top marks from me. Incidentally, my dad has a large scale model of a BI 727 with the exact paint job that the 707 has on it.

Gtirob

...

Unbelievably beautiful, Rob! What makes this shot stand out is the choice of AC. I don’t think a BI jet would have given the beautiful sky true justice. Add to that, a perfect choice for the border. Super job!!

Lastly, I want to welcome Applepie to the JC Contest. It’s nice to see new people get involve in this weekly contest. I hope you continue to craft your work as you learn from others who have come before you. I know I have!

Again, thank you all for making this a great JC Contest for me. I will email my Dad with all shots submitted along with the results.

Carry on, Jordan! "

Nice work on a great comp!

Skoker is on the bench next week! Can't wait to see what he comes up with for a theme.
A big congratulations to the other finalists, and great job to all that entered.

Cheers

ShaneG

This is an amazing and heartfelt theme for JC!

But one thing i am not sure of is the amount of people that will enter, it will seem like an effort to download/find a BI livery for a plane in FSX/9.

I will try though  Cheesy

The JC Contest is like a box of chocolates. You never know what you're going to get (when the theme is announced) or find (when you go looking for something to make the theme come alive).

I was a bit surprised to discover that I actually had a Braniff aircraft on my computer, I'm not really into airliners that much...at least this one has propellors:

Yeah, this summer my air conditioning broke and the average room temp was usually around 90° to 95°F and my computer ran fine. I think I was more worried about MY cooling system than my computers cooling system. Grin

Well when you have a 3.6GHz quad core to keep cool and a near 1GHz video card anything over 80F really is too warm Wink
