I love YaBB 1G - SP1!

Hello my name is Vilic.  I would like to add some long range guns and ... to certain planes both from FS2004 and CFS2 that do not have any guns or just have guns only.
Any idea how this could be done?

Yo Vilic;

Guns & other weapon loadouts are controlled by entries in the aircraft .dp file. (

amage
p
rofile)

No .dp file - No weapons   Sad ... simple eh?

- this also applies to any CFS2 object that is destroyable.

The .dp file is fairly easy to modify IF you understand the entries listed in it.

To be able to read & understand these I direct you the "Caleb Klerk's" site.

Look under the "Downloads Tab" .. there you will find a number of tutorials in e-book (.exe) format.

There are many e-books covering all aspects of sim aircraft.

The best being the: .dp guide ( cfgse_DP.exe )

This will fully explain each entry in the gunstation code plus offers a wealth of info on modifying the .dp

Everything is free to download & use.


For FS2004 planes; first you'll need to convert them to operate in CFS2.

I'm not familiar with FS9 acft; most FS2k2 and earlier acft can be modied for CFS2 but FS isn't set up to respond to CF guns.

Most of my mods have been with CFS1, quite the same. The first/third digits after the gunstation '=' sign designates the trigger button and type of gun. You may assign differently but, usually:
0/1 = machine gun
1/2 = cannon
2/4 = rocket
3/8 = bomb

The 1d1*14 (in this one) assigns the destructive power (um, try to be somewhat realistic here). Use the tutorials to manipulate your trajectories in the gunstation lines, which also positions the particular bank of guns; the [gun] lines position the individual guns in respect to the gunstation locus.

Hello and thank you very much for your concice help and direction.  I will certainly look into that site to learn about CFS2.

By the way aren't you glad that "garbage strike" is over in our city?

Yer a sneaky guy .... from my very own city of Toronto in Kanada!

What part of the city are you in? - I wanna know if the beer in yer fridge is within easy "striking distance"  Grin  Grin  Grin

I'm up in Gawd's Country in the Yonge/Steeles area.  Didn't see much of the strike .... just the public garbage cans overflowing along with my recycle box.  I don't put out much garbage but wuz dumb enough to get the biggest garbage bin .... that saved my butt this time!

On the second day of the strike I put a bunch of old eggs in the green box ... then broke um (insert evil laugh here) bet it smelled real nice when they emptied it 5 weeks later!  Wink

I hope Caleb's "DP Bible" helps you out Bro .... it's how we all learn this stuff.
