Having reloaded FS, I now see an annoying green bar show up while flying:

I've edited the fs9.cfg file, but I've never seen this pop up before. I've tried clicking on and off the boxes under ATC, but it still shows up.

I've never seen this either, Chris. Looks like ATC is communicating with you in that way... check your ATC settings, perhaps.

The only time I see the scrolling green bar, with its Text, is if I request ATIS, (Airport Terminal Information Service).

All other Comm Text auto pops-up in the normal ATC window.

AHA!
I unclicked the Use ATC voice box when I reloaded it due to the fact that a voice came on and said, "Welcome to . . . .

Green bar is now gone.

Thanks, Crash and Andy!

Edit: Under AI Smooth Settings is a box for "Show ATC messages". Unlicking that one did the trick.

Also unclicked User plane response as well just in case.

Unclicking Enable ATC Voice at startup will get rid of voice introduction.
