Can anyone help, I am having great difficulty in creating textures for objects I have designed in EOD.

If I use stock textures or Nova or Nova gold etc they work fine . However if I modify any of these textures or try to create my own from scratch they do not show up on the sim.

I am using DXTbmp to load textures into Paint shop pro and trying to load them back into the FS9 Texture File ( or add on scenery texture file)  again using DXTbmp.

Objects are loaded into the sim using FSSC. Colours applied always show , but not my own original or modified textures,

I started using the 24 bit bmp facility in dxtbmp and have even tried converting to r8 with convr8 ( which gives me 8 bit textures but none of them work.

Help !!!

Here's what I do and it seems to work.
1 - Load your texture into any paint program and edit it to your liking.
2 - Save as a bmp (24 bit is fine)
3 - Load that image into imagetool and convert to DXT1.
The main thing is to convert with imagetool so the Flight Sim recognizes it. Let me know if this works for you.

BTW - The nova textures are probably converted this way and that's why they work. When you load them into an editor and save them this is lost and needs to be done again. Good luck!
