Is there a large difference in the two?

I have a default FS9 C172 with an .air file done by RealAir that I love, and was wondering if it would work with the FSX default C172.

Good  or bad idea?

Thanks.  Smiley

I'm relatively sure that's not a problem.

There are a bunch of "black box"  parameters in air files.. and they haven't changed. And the majority of useful parameters come from the cfg file. For those, it doesn't matter what's in the air file, the cgf entry over-rides it.

Chances are, what you like about the RealAir 172, are what's in the cfg file.. but there may also be non-cfg parameters (weird lift/drag/thrust/gravity tables) that reside in the air file.

Thanks, I was just wanting to make sure it wasn't going to ruin anything with my FSX as I've got it working perfect for my system now, and didn't want it spoiled by a non native alteration. Wink

I will see how it goes with the air file first and then compare the cfgs if it doesn't go as planned. Smiley
