Hi!

I'm going to buy one World Terrain Mesh... there are two I found.. FSGenesis World Terrain Mesh and FS Global 2008. Both are supposed to cover the same area on 76m resolution, Alps on 19m. So, here's the catch.. first one costs $19.95 and the second one costs $85!!! I don't know why is FS Global almost 4 times as expensive as FSGenesis mesh. Any ideas?

In general the global meshes are produced from the same source data (SRTM). The problem is that these source data a lot of voids that have to be filled by interpolation. Depending on the method used (and the amount of manual adjustments) the result can be quite different. In one mesh the resolution of mountain peaks may be better while another has bettern coastlines (to give a rough example). It is often hard to say one mesh is better than another - they are just different.

I have FS Global and I am quite satisfied with it except for some parts in Norway where I found it to be not very good. I think it may be more expensive as it is including both the FS9 and the FSX version on separate DVDs.

Thank you but I understand all that.. the only thing I don't understand is the price! I know you also get FS9 mesh with FS Global 2008 but 4 times the price of FSGenesis mesh? 4 times.. why?

Thank's man! I'll order it today.

It's interesting how the same product costs €72 in one place (Simmarket) and €32 somewhere else (Flightsimx Flightstore).

Excellent, Tomaz!... Smiley...!

It does make a BIG improvement to the Default Scenery Mesh... Smiley...!

..and you don't have to keep downloading and installing individual Meshes to suit different areas...FS Global does it all in one go!

Paul...G-BPLF...FS 2004.... Cool...!
