Hi guys !

First of all, hello. I'm a newbie here on these forums but I am playing FS for quite a while now.
Since FSX arrived, I found that my computer isn't enough for a non-stressy flight because of frames under 20.
So I'm thinking of getting a new one but I have no clue where to start.
Also, an important side detail, is that it musn't be too expensive but I still want a good PC that can handle at least every FSX-setting at medium and some at high.
I also have a 22' screen so that affects frames to Wink

Thank you very much,

Elias

What do you have now...
the solution can be anything from a simple video card change to a new machine.

Russian planes: IL-76 (all standard length ones),  Tu-154 and Il-62, Tu-134 and An-24RV&&&&AI flightplans and repaints can be found here

And euhm, what should that cost ?
Because a quad-core CPU with 2.66Ghz cost already 500€or something.. Sad

$810 for this http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16883229102 ; Then add at least a Nvidia GTX 260http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814130434 ;  About $155  You already have the monitor and you should be set.

Well i give the prices in dollars. extimated.

1 - you dont need a quad core ( FS9 only uses one core and FSX 3 max) you can get dual core at 3.0ghz for $80 to 150.
2 - Memory you can get 4 gb for $80 to 130
3 - video card $90 and 130
4 - PSu for $70 to 90
5 - Mb you can get those for $90 to 130.

With those 500 you can get a relative good machine. But you need to look.I will try to give you a "cheap list".
But with 500 euros you can get good material. Is that your budget?
Winki went with the values from cheap to max. So you can have an idea.
Keep us posted.

By the way where are you from?So you can adjust prices.
But for that demand of FSX you want you need to spend money. Undecided

@ 757 200ba : thanks ! Thats more what my budget is about Wink
So if I would buy a new PC, should I just go to the pc shop and ask : I want a pc with this this and this, is it possible ? ;P
I live in Belgium so that means Euro Wink Can I buy cpu's etc. in the USA and use them in a belgian pc , because that would cost way less.

Thanks,

We let another noob in?  Sigh...When will we ever learn!

Welcome to the zoo, by the way.  If you request help, you are required to submit your life's history, title to your first born and all your gold from World of Warcraft (send to Bootybyby).

But, you cant do wrong by asking for help here.  These folks are golden.

Again, welcome to the wonderful world of computer updating, upgrading and pounding one's head into the wall.  I prefer dry-wall to brick.  It tends to give some.

Referencing your question about purchasing stuff in the US to take advantage of the exchange rate?  I dont think it works that way for the more reputable sites (Newegg, etc.).  I think they charge the Euro value added tax anyway.  Or convert the currency to match your country of origin.  Im not sure.  Someone else fact check this for me.
