LOL, I'm expecting a lot of this, don't know why the Porsche seems to incite such comments, not that it bothers me, I wouldn't buy a Porsche if it did. I'm also expecting a lot of 'couldn't afford a 911 then?'

Agreed, but given that I will be doing my usual 550 mile trip in it I have opted (after much thought) to go for the tiptronic, in the hope that the auto will eat up the motorway whilst the tiptronic semi-auto box will allow me some input in the twisties. If I find after a few months that I don't like the tiptronic then I will chop it in for a manual. I also think that driving the BMW auto for a few years has made me lazy.

Yea I dont quite understand the anti Porsche comments. They are one of, if not the best cars on the road in terms of quality, customer satisfaction, and reliability. Plus, I just love the sound those flat 6s make!
My specs... A hard drive, motherboard, graphics card, some memory, a keyboard, mouse, and monitor - in other words, nothing special.

It is just a bit of light hearted banter that's all. If TSC wants to spend his hard earned cash on (replace any Jeremy Clarkson remark here ((I rather like Cockster myself)) then that is his
waste
worry

Always liked the Boxster more than the 911. Nice car Martyn. Enjoy it.

I wasn't really worrying about the anti-Porsche comments on here, we all give each other a bit of stick, so thats cool with me. I just meant that out & about the Porsche tends to incite comments & gestures from people from all walks of life.
Anyhoo, picked up the Coxster this morning & I'm loving it! Bring on the drive into Scotland tomorrow.

Sadly I won't be heading from Liverpool, I'm making my way from Leeds in the morning. Nevermind, plenty of cracking roads in Scotland.

Aha. Don't worry, I've since fallen in love with the Porsche 911 GT3 RS so I take that comment back!
I just think they could try and make some changes to the looks... Porsche seems to be the only brand of car I know people call 'a Porsche' when they see them, and usually not call them by their specific name... Probably because they all look exactly the same!

Lol, yes Porsche do need to get some coffee in the design department! Haven't written the car off yet, had a stunning drive up to Scotland. Not a very good reception up here so I will only be posting now & then.

Lol, no problem with the car Rob, it's just that I haven't perfected the art of getting out of it with a kilt on.
