System:
Dell XPS 420
Motherboard:6-slot BTX motherboard (came w/PC)
CPU: 2.6 Ghz-intel core2 Quad
8GB 800 MHz Dual Channel DDR2 SDRAM
GPU: ATI HD 3870
Vista 64 bit
350W PSU

I wanted to upgrade the my GPU in order to increase the setting on my FSX game but I need help.  I'm running mid range graphics now, but anything higher slows down my fps (larger busy airports slow it down).  I was going to get a new GPU (GTX 260)/and PSU but I heard that FSX does have a lot of dependency on CPU speed.
Is is worth upgrading the GPU? Anything to maximize game graphics and experience would be great.
Any suggestions on what I should do? Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

To be honest i don understand how a pc like that cames with a 350w PSU.
First i would change the PSU, nothing less than 500w and see what you get.I searched and i couldnt find any that came with 8 gb of Ram so i suposed you might have bought more ram?If you did, its better you see what is the cicl.you might have also a memory conflict.
I would go for sure for another PSU, and then if no improvement yes try that or other GPU, either way even the GTX 260 will demand a better PSU.Nothing less than 500w it will be there for future
350w i guess those were stoped being made like 3 or 4 years ago.
Keep us posted. Wink

I recommend a PSU no less than 600w if you're going to run a GTX260... I had a 500w try to run it for a week and it fried the crap out of the PSU... If not, then just go for a 9800GT or GTX... as long as it's not an ATi card you're ok for FS

Are ATi cards bad for FS? I was thinking of getting one.
