I've wondered about this one myself ... does anyone know how to monitor how much you're downloading?

I've searched for a utility to monitor download volume but I can't seem to find anything to fit the bill.  Recommendations anyone?

My provider is about to change from a 20GB per month to a 10GB limit for the package I have and I don't fancy having to pay over the odds just for the sake of a few movie trailer downloads.

Some, if not most, routers actually tell you if you navigate to the router's address on your web browser. My BT home hub used to tell me how long the connection had been active, my sent data and my recieved data for that time.

Now I've got 20mb unlimited broadband, capped to 4mb whilst they do line tests, then raised hopefully to 10-20mb over the next week.

I use DU meter http://www.dumeter.com/ to show how much i download/upload. I think it has a 1 month free trial and then its something like £17 to buy, but its worth it Smiley and you can get it to export the amouts per month into a txt doc or html or pdf Smiley

eg
Quote:
