I recently downloaded a freeware package of the 737-800 and the sound doesn't work. No cockpit or Engine sounds.  I've tried to check the CFG file but haven't made any changes. I've even gone to the extent of purchasing a sound pack(TSS sound pack) and still no luck. Is there anyone who can help me. This is annoying.

The 737-800 is a native FSX aircraft.  Is it a "stand alone" package, or is it an add-on to the native 737-800?

Its an addon. what i think happened was that i overwrote the original folder because that's what it told me to do in the installation txt. However doing so messed up the planes audio. How can i get the default folder back.

You have a few options.

Swap in a sound file from any twin engine passenger jet, like the A321.  The sounds will not be authentic 737 sounds, however.

You could try a "repair" by loading Disk 1 for FSX.  There should be a "repair" option.  I've heard mixed opinions on the usefulness of the Repair option, but I've never used it, so your mileage may vary.

Search for "FSX, 737-800, sound" on google (or here at SimViation), and see if there are any hits for aftermarket sound sets.
