at getting shot down and having to bail out.  Embarrassed

I'm perfecting the art of getting my plane turned into swiss cheese.
Those bomber crews aren't messing around on Ace level.

I know this is going to sound a little over the top, but when I began using il-2 I was always getting shot to bits.
Then I watched some dogfight tactics  on youtube (made using il-2) and my technique improved greatly.

If you want new skins for your aircraft visit canonsskins. It provides great, high quality skins for almost all il-2 aircraft.

Yes, waiting till you see the whites in their eyes is turning out to be an unwise battle tactic.  Grin Wink

1946.

It has all of the expansion packs included, and only costs $10.

almost 300 flyable planes from every country in WWII that had some.

Lot's of experimental early jets also. Cool

There is a 'Invincibility' option in the options menu.

But it kind of takes the challenge out of the game. Sad

The scenery is actually quite nice, and yes, with the cheat on, you could have a very exciting tour with no worries of death & destruction. Wink ( I'm going to have to try this now.)
It doesn't cover the entire world, but it is large enough that it will take some time to see it all.  Smiley

I got my copy from steam ,direct to drive, for $9.99, and haven't had any problems since getting it figured out.
Amazon has the disc version at the link Sean posted above.  Smiley
