I try to launch FS2004 now I get the following message:

ERROR: Your computer has run out of available memory. Flight Simulator will now exit. You may not have enough free space on your hard drive. Run Disc cleanup to free up space and then try running flight simulator again

I have rebuilt the pagefile and edited the app for the "App can handle> 2gb adressest" fix. I have defragged per NickN's directions. I have 205gb left on a 300gb drive. I am not out of memory.

What else could this be? I have spent 3 days reinstalling and setting up FS9 now because of the major issues with FSX I had. Now this. I'm about ready to throw in the towel!

Please help. I can't do anything at this point.

I uninstalled my Vancouver scenery because this started happening immediately after I put it in. Before the error message above, I get the box popping up as shown below. This happens three times showing area 193, 194, 195 and then the error message.

...

How do I completely remove Vancouver if I can't get to the scenery library to take this out?

You could manually delete the entry from Scenery.cfg. Take a back-up first.

You need to dissable a scenery area from within the scenery library before you remove it from your addon scenery file, or the program goes looking for the file and cant find it.....which usually leeds to a complaint like the your getting.
As to your original message about being out of memory, there have been others who have gotten this message and I believe there is a fix, being that it's never happened to me I never paid attention to what the fix is. Someone  should be able to get you the answer.

Edit
here are two occurances similar to yours
http://www.simviation.com/cgi-bin/yabb2/YaBB.pl?num=1240104799
http://www.simviation.com/cgi-bin/yabb2/YaBB.pl?num=1244884041

definetly sounds like a scenery problem..........seems a bit odd to have a problem like this with a payware product (especially when Holger Sandman is one of the creators) If you post on his forum that your having issues with this scenery he will either help, or connect you with the main designer of the scenery, I think it was Jon Patch??

I was able to get the scenery errors to quit but not the main error that prevents FS9 from launching. Sometimes it's just easier to suck it up and start over!

I removed it all and I am in the process of reinstalling everything.

Thanks. I don't know how this happened. I hope it isn't one of my add-on airports. I'm certain that Vancouver *probably* wasn't the problem. That is a payware add-on and is very nice. I don't know how to figure out what is bad.

I wish there was a list of known airports/scenery/etc. that cause memory problems or other issues in FS2004. I have so many of the aerosoft and I know some of the older ones have been know to cause problems (Santander and Pamploma for example).

Is there a list like that?
