So as I sit here in front of my computer with seriously sunburned legs, I decided to have a bit of fun with some of the browsers that are available to the public.

For the Test I used:
MacBook Pro: 2.6GHz Core 2 Duo | 4GB DDR2 667 (4-4-4-12) | GeForce 8600M GT | 500GB 5400RPM HDD | Mac OS X 10.5.7

Browsers used:
Safari 4.0.2
FireFox 3.5.1
Chromium 0.1 (early beta build for OS X)
Minefield 3.6 alpha compiled on 7/22/2009

Results:
...

Benchmark used:
FutureMark Peacekeeper

Are you able to run FS on Mac? Huh

If so, is it better or worse?

Boot Camp allows the installation of Windows operating systems on the Mac platform with out a virtual machine.

Re-ran the tests on Windows Vista Ultimate x86 on the same hardware.

The complex graphics part is not included in the overall score because it's not supported yet. As you can see all the other browsers do very well at that part.

So what is safari?  Never heard of it, but it appears to be the best in these tests.

Its Apple's web browser. If you use iTunes/quicktime chances are that you have it installed already because of the Apple Software Update. If you don't have it then you can download it here

Apple's browser will work on a PC? That's pretty wild.

Is it worth it? Obviously the test results above say so, but does that same result happen on a PC?

I don't know as none of the computers in my house are as good as my laptop Grin Its worth a shot though. If you don't like it you can always uninstall it Wink

If it works on Windows Vista i think it works on a PC Wink

I tried Safari (the newest version) on my computer (XP x64) for a while, but I stopped using it because it's terrible for playing videos and can't connect to FTP sites (which means no downloading from SimV!)

I've never had a problem with the videos but I do have the issue with downloading things from here. When that happens I just send bug reports to apple Grin
