To cut a long story short (leased a laptop through my company, leasing firm goes tits up, laptop sent for repair, can't be repaired, Acer offer money back, but only to bankrupt leasing firm with original receipt, new finance company say they only bought up the finance and not the maintenance,) I am in the market for a new Lappy. What I want is one that will run FSX (my "old" one Acer 7720 Travel Mate did that just fine) and am now looking for a recommendation or two. Budget is around €1000 ($1400). I am not looking for every gadget possible, just a big HD, good graphic card, reasonable memory and no less the 17 inches. DVD burner and not interested in Blue Ray. Also happy with Vista on my last lappy, never had a problem running anything. So if anyone has any ideas for me I would be grateful.

Thanks

Matt

All I can tell you about laptops, is what I've learned.

It's impossible to overspend on one, and very easy to underspend, which actually ends up costing more, in both money, and useability. Much moreso than desktops.

Figure your ABSOLUTE maximum budget, and then add 50% to it  Cheesy

You won't have to replace it as soon.. AND you'll get more (and better) use out of it,,
