I was using Firefox 3.5 until NickN said there were no real benifits to it. and switched back to IE 7.

Now for some reason or another, I avoided IE 8. I believe it caused me some problem that I've since forgotten.

Today, Youtube informs me that I must switch to IE 8 or back to FireFox,

Which is recommended?

And is there a problem with IE 8? (I know I did uninstall and go back to 7 for a reason, I just don't remember why after a year. Embarrassed )

Hi,
I believe there is a third way in this conundrum. I'm currently using Google Chrome and, although it's simplistic, this does mean that it's quite a lot quicker than IE8, whilst also looking quite nice. Smiley

IE8 has a problem that sometimes it does not want to open tabs for me. It sometimes opens but does not load the page.

Well so far so good. Smiley

When I installed it, I made sure to do the custom install and chose (?)
not to install most of their 'help us help you' features.

Not too bad, although I HATE tabbed browsing. That's why I have all these monitors. Cheesy

What ever problem I had with it back then, doesn't seem present today.

Although it has moved my Simviation reply box to the right side of the screen for some reason.  Huh

It does that to me too. Just click the compatibility view and everything goes back to normal.

I've got them both running.  If one won't do the job, the other will.  Grin Wink

After a while with IE8 though, I see nothing I dislike about it.

Neither browser seems faster than the other, or does something the other doesn't.

Matter of preference I suppose. Wink
