Is that a special panel where the hole is?

It doesn't look like it was caused by an outside factor, and there's no tearing of metal from the angle we can see.

Looks like an access panel of some kind popped open.

As far as I am aware there is no access paneling on the roof outside of antennas and not in that position. I will look "in the books" tonight at work to check. However, the hole and the flap do look a bit jagged.

What you see as jagged, I was seeing a separate piece underneath the skin. Shocked Wink

Metal fatigue possibly? Huh

Well, I check out the books and had a look too. We had an aircraft in the hanger last night and the office window is directly above it. No panel to report, so something went very wrong. For a piece of metal to blow out like that, well the weakest point in a fuselage is a lap joint. I would expect that to go before something like this.

Would that be your football, or ours?

Cool

Well, it only mentions size, not shape. Had it been an American football, it would be in the shape of one as well...

Amirite, or am I babbling?
