The forum crashed yesterday due probably to a bug in the Yabb scripts. Because of this it may happen again. Unfortunately it happened during a rare time I did not visit the forums for 24 hours.

Thank you to Alrot and Shane for alerting me to the problem!! Had it stayed live for any longer a lot more damage could have been done.

The forum has been rebuilt taking many hours of intense & careful effort. Luckily my connection did not get interrupted during this otherwise it would NOT have been good.

I do not know the damage done -- but that will emerge when useage builds again today.

I envisage some people who re-registered their accounts during the crash time may have problems.

Always gives me a warm fuzzy feeling when everythings working.

Definately thank you for all the hard work you went through to bring the board back. The community owes you a lot of thank you's for all the work you've done. Smiley

Anyway, being possibly a problem with YaBB itself have you had to think about moving to a different system should this happen again?

... yes ...  Cool

I did enquire about that a couple of times on forum/forums and the verdict seemed to be that it would be a difficult conversion with this size ....

A solution will be found though -- it always is Smiley

Yeah, I've noticed that I don't show up if I sort by name. I'll show if I sort by position or post count.

It also only shows about 3518 members when sorted by anything other than register date.

I also don't show up in a search.
