I captured a screen shot using Screen Hunter.  I changed the title to dlgsplash.bmp and placed in the Uires folder.  Yes,I did back-up my original.  I have also used other splashscreens successfully uploaded to Simviation.  Problem is, my self-made splashscreen does not show.  When I start FSX I just see my desktop until FSX is fully started. What am I doing wrong.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.

What format was the original screen shot? If it was something other than a recognized .bmp format (a .jpg for example), simply renaming to .bmp will not work. You must convert the image to .bmp format.

I see that the ScreenHunter-Free save formats are .jpg, .png,  and .gif. You should be able to open the screen shot in MS Paint and then 'save as' in .bmp format (24 bit to preserve colors).

ScreenHunter 5.1 free version will save as a bmp.  Smiley

...

I get much better screenshots, when I take as a bmp and convert/compress to jpeg myself, instead of taking it as a compressed jpeg to start with.
