Los Angeles, CA - Tuesday, July 7, 2009 - Slipstream Airways and ATR announced today the signature of a HoA (Heads of Agreement) for the purchase of 18 ATR 72-500s with options for 6 additional aircraft.
During this afternoon's press conference Kenneth Smith, Executive Vice President for Slipstream Airways, announced “These new ATR 72-500s will allow us to introduce one the most modern turboprop regional aircraft into our fleet and also introduce our passengers to state-of-the-art standards of comfort in a regional aircraft. We are estatic to be further developing our regional network with aircraft which have clearly proven their suitability in any U.S. environment. We are convinced that the ATRs will strongly contribute to the growth of our airline and can ensure the lowest operating costs given the current economic environment.” Details about delivery schedules will be announced later this month with the contract signing.
