The Horton 229
Did anybody catch this really interesting documentary on NATGEO the other night? Very interesting to watch the boys at Northrop try to recreate this aircraft!

However bad their intentions were, German engineering was at it's peak in those days.

Carlo Cool

PS didn't see the documentary, only saw the clips in the link.

The Ho 229 (Gotha Go 229A-0) is one of the CFS3 default aircraft. As for "Stealth technology" I suspect that was due to it being mainly constructed from wood. The DH Mosquito was also constructed from wood & (unlike the Ho 229) was produced in large numbers, serving in many roles. The radar signature was so low that they had to wrap a section of the rear fuselage with copper wire so it would show up on friendly radar screens.

I saw some of this show. It was pretty good. Very interesting. The Germans were definately way ahead of their time as far as engineering goes.

Cool

I did see one the other day on the German plan to drop a nuclear bomb on NY Shocked
Consider this, the F-86 and Mig-15 both came about due to German engineers. Going into space, German engineers. Discovery of smoking causing lung problems, German doctors. Etc, etc, etc.
A lot of amazing stuff has come about because of Germans, just narrow minded gimboids only mention the war Roll Eyes
Personally my favourite German invention is lager Cool
