I have looked into what combat flight simulators are out there and to be honest it's confusing what to go for.

I'm interested in;

MS Combat flight simulator 3: battle for Europe
Jane's USAF
IL-2 Sturmovik: 1946
Lock On: Air Combat simulation
Wings Over Europe
Pacific fighters

Having looked on Amazon.co.uk, the only one listed as working on windows Vista is 'Lock On:Air combat simulation'

Will any of the others work on Vista?   I'm mainly thinking here about IL-2 Sturmovik: 1946

I've heard that for WW2 combat sims, IL-2 Sturmovik 1946 is the best but also that a lot of people have had trouble loading it due to some sort of error in the copy protection ?   Is this still the case?

IL2 will work fine on Vista 32, as will the expansion packs (Pacific Fighters and Forgotten Battles, a couple of "must gets" once you beat the first IL2...what a series!!!!)

I don't have Vista 64 so I don't know if it will work on that OS, but I do have Vista 32 and play all of the IL2 games just fine.

......I believe the last version 'IL-2 Sturmovik: 1946' has everything rolled into one?

do you know if that runs on Vista 32 ?

Thanks

Wings over Europe i a good CFS! Isreal is better though just because it's newer but more mods are out for Europe version.

But i must suggest you try Falcon 4.0, not the greatest graphics but a pretty perfect job of simulating the Fighting Falcon  Wink
