Hey guys, I'm back to ask yet another question.

I am trying to decide what hardware to buy -- I am trying to decide between the Saitek X52 PRO, or the CH Products Flight Yoke. I'm also interested in the Saitek Pro Flight Yoke System PZ44 with Yoke & Quadrant, but I don't have much money to spend, so I want to make sure that I spend it on something that is worth it.

I am very familiar with Saitek and would love to stick with them, but maybe it's time to try something else. I know that the majority of aircraft use yokes instead of joysticks, and since I prefer to fly Cessna's or commercial jetliners, the yoke seems more natural.

Can anyone make a suggestion for me? Better yet, do you have an old yoke or joystick laying around that you want off your desk to make room for a new one? Any help would be appreciated Smiley.

Thanks,

Matt

You can fly a civy aircraft just fine with a joystick as well as a yoke.  For me I use a joystick because I also play IL2.  My rig is a MSFF2 in combination with a Saitech X45.  It's just a matter of your personal preference and how "real" you want it to seem for the planes you like.  If I only flew non-joystick planes I would probably have a yoke.  Also, they are expensive but you should take a look at these:

Started with an X52 and, after some home-made mods, am fairly satisfied with it.  The twist function is supposed to provide control of the yaw axis but it just gives me fits so I keep my ball centered with the big red check mark.  A yoke, with separate throttles and rudder pedals tend to create a more realistic 'cockpit' atmosphere, especially flying the big iron and rudder pedals might provide more precise control.
