I don't get the editor... How do i use it
The editor has many levels of complexity, and allows you to create from the simplest "go in, kill everyone" type missions, to full blown epics with complex cinematics to multiplayer missions so complex that rival entire mp games.
The basic functionality of the editor is placing objects onto the game map... this is done by double clicking anywhere on the map while in 'units' mode (default mode)... this will open a properties dialog, where you define what you're placing, whether is a player or AI, the kind of unit and everything else concerning that item
the first drop box defines to what team that unit belongs to... blue is friendly and red is enemy... empty means you're creating empty vehicles... and you can use it to place cars and choppers for your entertainment, just remember you need a player unit to be able to play your mission (that's pretty much the only requirement)
as you go deeper you are able to place waypoints, triggers, game logic and everything else, but explaning these would quite easily max out the character limit for this post
the ArmA2 site has links to tutorials and the whole documentation for more avid mission makers... the editor is quite a piece of software and it can be more entertaining than the game if you like making stuff... it even has it's own programming language, which allows you to create and manipulate the game rules so far as to make completely different games other than the 'default' ArmA
check out this site:
http://www.ofpec.com/
it has many tutorials on how to use the editor, and a forum... the tutorials might be for ArmA one or even Operation Flashpoint, but the editor's basic design hasn't changed much on ArmA2 so most of the old tutorials still apply
Hope this helps
Cheers

these were some very long 2 days, but ArmA2 has finally become available on Steam... I'm downloading right now
90% done!! but I have to stop the download right now, since my computer is in my bedroom, and it's as loud as a jet engine... and I have to sleep
tomorrow it'll be done!! after that is happiness
...this is the kind of game that makes all the money I put into this rig be worth it!!
91% now... tomorrow should be fun
Cheers

same here though FSX and ArmA 1 run fine this ends up with white objects and bad textures....

)
Just wondering how you're getting screenshots. Irfanview isn't working for it and neither is just hitting print screen.....any ideas?

How many FPS did you guys get in the benchmark? I got 44 FPS average 1280x1024, 1280x1024, no AA, high AF, post processing on high, all othersettings on NORMAL. I want more performance though - it's time for a new videocard soon.
