ShaneG's Chile Tour
Hop 5
SCHR - SCOH
WHEN:
Saturday June 26th & Sunday June 27th at 3:00pm EST / 8:00pm GMT
WHERE:
fs.netfrag.org
PLANES:
Small props / pilots choice (I prefer ground huggers
)
WEATHER:
real world (as always.
)
SIM TIME:
I fly at dawn for the sunrises in the mountains, but it's your choice.
OTHER NOTES:
I will be taking the route indicated by the
BLUE
line on the map above. This will provide for a little longer, yet more scenic route.
Also for the FS9 users, the SRTM mesh from Simviation makes a BIG difference in the terrain. There should be a mesh here for FSX as well.
The hops are going to start getting a little longer for the last four hops, simply because, the airports are [b]VERY[b] few and far between this far South.
Hope to see you there!

To those who were along for HOP 4, this flight will take us right past the volcano seen in the distance at SCHR.

Did a practice run today, expect lots of mountain climbing, gorgeous valleys, and a decent little approach at the end.

Nice flight, looking forward to the next one!
I tried out a 'new' plane for the tour, a pusher prop, home-built called the Rutan Long-EZ. Very nice aircraft...
