Alrighty, so here is my dilema. I will add some addon scenery into my Addon Scenery library and it'll show up on the list as checked and enabled, but when i restart the program, it all disappears and I'm back to the defaults. Any ideas?

How about an example - filename etc - of something you have tried to"add" but it does not work.

And perhaps most importantly, what Operating System are you using - XP or Vista?

If Vista, you may not have your permissions set to allow it to recognize such changes to your FS2004 setup.

I have a similar problem. My Tahiti 2004 scenery by Bill Melichar worked fine for a while. Then the island seemed to rise like a growing volcano and where there used to be water is now land. Some of the buildings and other items are still there, but essentially, the seaplane base is covered by land now. And I have no idea what caused it.

...
If God intended aircraft engines to have horizontally opposed engines, Pratt and Whitney would have made them that way.

What other enhancements have you installed prior to discovering the Tahiti issue?

Sounds as if you have installed some terrain enhancement which has raised the elevations in that area and have thus begun to cover part of Bill's great scenery.

Nothing specific in that part of the world. The only thing I can think of global would be REP.
Think I'll re-install it and see what happens.

Sorry. Forgot the specs. Okay...

Vista SP1 64-bit

Now then, as an example of sceneries that didn't work, take the folder in C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Games\Flight Simulator 9\Addon Scenery named "FlyTampa - Seattle" for instance.

I go into FS9, open up my scenery menu, go to addon scenery cache listing and click Add Area.. and click the folder FlyTampa - Seattle and then add. It appears on the list as enabled with a check in the box. I do not have "Clear CD" selected, and so I'll repeat the process with other scenery files and once they're all set in the list, I restart the program to allow the changes to take place.

Well, when I come back, its as if I had done nothing before and its right back to the listing of default sceneries. Is there a limit to how much you can add or something?

No limit That I am aware of - your issue sounds as if you do not have your Vista permissions set to allow such changes.

Try turning off UAC and see if that allows the chnages to stick -

Start -> Control Panel -> User Accounts and turn off UAC (User Account Control). That is a universal option which will of course remove any protection on your entire system.

Also be sure you are running as Adminstrator.
