Where's the ski equipment on those birds, Jordan?

Technically all helicopters that don'thave wheels have skis.

I thought they were called skids not skis. I may be wrong though.

Smiley Bob

I've heard both terms,so I don't know.  I guess It depends on your definition of a "ski"

Ok, crap....I should have specified snow equipment in regard to "skis" like the image of the helicopter in my example shot. If you notice, it has snow pads under the skids. Note: I have never heard the use of the term "skis" to refer to "skids" but that's beyond contention at this point.

I guess I'll let those shots qualify, but now you know!  Wink

I wondered the same thing about the one I used. Wink

Well Shane I went back an took another look at your entry and I can't see any undercarriage.  Wink So call them what you want. Skis or skids.  Grin  Your choice.

This is one of those rare moments where I'm hoping the judge's knowledge of aircraft is fairly extensive enough to compensate for my eclectic artistic flair. Grin Wink

I really wanted to think outside the box, and golly, they sure looked like skis for rear undercarriage. Undecided Grin Wink
