Hi all,
Is there any way of stopping AI planes from appearing on the aircraft selection menu? It's just now, with many packages from WoAI et al under my belt, it's starting to look a bit cluttered.
Thanks, Smiley

Well, you can do it manually with an airfile editor such as AirEd, although I'm drawing a blank as to exactly how to do it that way.

http://www.wolfgang-picheta.de/ has a program that you can use to do this as well.  Make sure you click the Union Jack flag on the right side of the screen to get an English translation page.  Versions for both FS9 and FSX.

Get yourself AirEditor (AirEd) or a program called FlusiFix or even one called BBQHide.  Any will work.  The latter two and ones like them let you hide AI aircraft, or any aircraft on your menu, in big batches all at once.

Follow the directions from those programs to hide those aircraft.  If you want to use Air Editor to do them one at a time, go to the aircraft folder of the aircraft you want to hide, right click on that aircraft's .AIR file, select open with AirEd (you may have to search for the AirEd.exe file on your system), and in the top couple of lines you should see a line that reads:

aircraft type=0

change that to read:

aircraft type=2 (as in too many aircraft on your menu)

You do that by simply clicking on the "0" number and a grey box will come up and allow you to change the number.  Make sure to hit the "enter" key to make the change permanent.

BTW, you can do this with FS9 running, just make sure you are not loaded up on the aircraft you want to hide, it may or may not cause a problem.
