I don't know if you knew it, but there's a very good program for FS Maintance out there including an english version.

http://www.wolfgang-picheta.de/

There's also a version for FSX.

Cheers,
Fabian

This tool was especially designed for Microsoft Flight Simulator. Its intention is to eliminate all the small and large errors within Flight Simulator without the necessity to search for hours on end through all the folders and files of the program. Additionally, typos can almost completely be eliminated as well as damage to files and data loss caused by wrong handling of files. All possible tweaks and changes are documented and can be reversed any time. If a special tweak or change is not wanted it can simply be omitted.

Every single change that is made possible with this tool has extensively been tested, no bugs were detected. Nevertheless, the use of this tool is completely at your own risk! The author does not accept any responsibility for damage caused by the improper use of the program or the program itself. The author does not guarantee the correct functioning of the program.

FlusiFix has developed into a large and powerful tool. Not everybody, however, needs every function! Therefore, it is highly recommended to study the description of the function before clicking on it! To keep track of the changes, the status-line in the lower part of the window displays which functions had been used when and which changes had been made at the FSX.
And, please remember: FlusiFix only changes those items that the user has selected by clicking on it!

The tool was programmed in German. Because of the internal structure of the program, not every German phrase can be translated. In every case, a detailed description on how to achieve a certain function is provided.

I would also like to express my sincere thanks to Gunter and Marco for the translation of the tool. They spend hours and hours on this task. Thank you!

That scares the heck out of me, that something would automate that many changes without a rollback option.

I tried it a few years ago (it is not a "new" program) - and if memory serves, it makes a backup first before applying any changes you may wish to try.

As most - if not all - of the possible edits were things I could do manually, I never used the program much - preferring to "do it myself".

Best fetures I used 'till now is:
Hide Aircraft in the selection menu - no more AI aircrafts on the list

Gauge remover - I had a good programm doning that but now I'm having one that does it all.

And a strobe mod.

Of course you can do all the things by your self, but I removed all my Ai-aricraft from the selection list with one click instead of editing hunderts of *.air files  Wink.

And yes a backupfunction is included.

I think it is German, but I think there's something about the way the page is formatted that isn't meshing well with translators. I tried Google, but it didn't do it either.

Grin I didn't think it would be that simple.  Thought that was just a download only link. Wink

I think we are talking Flusifix here.I have used it myself and there are numerous tweaks and fiddles you can experiment with.As with all these things I am not sure if it really enhanced my simming, but i reckon its worth a look.
