Out of RAM.... (Read 432 times)

From one day to another my FS refuses to start....
I'm running WinXP pro and haven't changed anything on FS exept for installing AES 2.1 from 1.X and a WoAI package. I have 2Gb of RAM and never had any problems when running FS9.

It says FS is out of memory, but the sysmonitor tells me there's a lot of memory available. Any ideas?

Thanks for your help,

Cheers,
Fabian

Since it didn't do it before, I would say it's one of those two things you installed. Remove one at a time and see if the error stops. Process of elemination. Wink

Usually the Out of Ram error is caused by an addon scenery. So if the WOAI pack included no scenery, then I would suspect the AES.

Keep us updated.

Went back to AES 1.99 with no success. I remember I made some Windows updates since last time I fired up FS.

A new installed FS (I have a backup folder) runs very good by the way.......,

So, I'm starting to look after my Addons.....

Fixed now....,

I installed a KBWI Baltimore scenery and that was the scenery that made me run out of RAM  Tongue.

Cheers, and thanks for the help,
Fabian

If you don't mind, which one, so I can see if it's a chronic problem for all, or just a case by case issue.  Smiley

Glad to hear it's all good now. Cool

FYI - On the page for this scenery is a link to correct the "freeze" problem -

Quote

If FS is freezing when trying to load this scenery, please delete all files of size zero (0 KB) from your "Addon Scenery\KBWI\scenery\" folder.

End Quote

Guess you might have missed that.   Wink

BTW - It looks good and works fine on my system - with the zero byte files removed - three of them if memory serves me.
