Hello On-Line Chums...
...!
It seems like the bottom has dropped out of our usual Multiplayer flights.
All of our regular Flyers have disappeared, not only from the Multiplayer fraternity, but also from Simviation in general!....
....!
We used to have a regular group we could depend upon at one time, but they no longer appear in the list...
...!
Maybe the old FS 2004 Members are slowly fading away to do "other things", to be replaced by new Members with the usual FSX Multiplayer, etc, problems that prevent them from joining us?
I pop in and out of Multiplayer every day, at different times, and rarely ever spot anyone else on, now!
It's almost as though its popularity has waned over the recent years!
I've been regularly chuffing around on Multiplayer since the days of FS 2000, and recently less and less Members seem to be joining in!
The regular Week-end Tours, Fly-ins, and Aircraft Shows seem to have lost their popularity of late!
....what do you reckon?
Paul...G-BPLF...FS 2004...and a lone Cessna 150...
...!
.....
....!

Fozzer,
For me it is real life getting in the way. I am terribly busy.
And for the recent scheduled flights...... I really don't fly small prop planes much anymore, so there is no real "enticement" to try to find the time....which likely I can't anyway.
Soon I'll be back in Japan for the summer.... so no sim flying for a couple of months.
I think a factor in the multiplayer situation not "expanding" much is also the complexity of actually DOING it. For a lot of folks all the port setting and stuff is just too complicated.
And it sounds like FSX is even worse than fs2004 for getting it working.
The folks that seem to be willing to get "technical" about multiplayer seem to all be on IVAO and VATSIM. Those places are really crowded.
Yeah... it is a real blast flying with real people........ hopefully it will catch on more.
best,
.................john

Hi Paul,
I'm still online now and then. Just hopping on the hoplist a few times a week (if I get the chance). Problem is that I'm quit busy in the weekends (work, my so called social life) so I have very little time to fly on Saturday or Sunday. However, I do have the Friday evening. I could start a tour if you like. If there is enough interest in it that is. Just name a continent and I'll start planning.
Carlo
PS. I know a tour on Friday will give some problems with our friends across the big fish pond because of the time zones...

Sigh... I am still in sim-limbo- my temp setup is dismantled, and the 'pit is hung up with technical problems, etc...
I sort of have it working enough to do a little flying, so maybe when the glider project is done (and I don't happen to be flying it) I will try joining a flight online.

The last few times I have tried to fly online I can't get on or keep getting kicked off
so it takes alot of the fun out of the whole thing
Plus I have had lots of computer probs since it's almost 6yrs old
And the lack of any weekly weekend tours or flights makes it hard to find others to fly with
And last WORK
lots of WORK
Oh well only 20yrs
till I can retire
!!!!!!!!!
My simpit is cold and dark

That IS part ofthe issue....... all it takes is one person logged in without the ports set correctly....... and it can screw it up for everyone else trying to get in. And THAT person goes on blithely flyinag abouit no knowing he/she is messing everything up. What makes it worse....is that it does not ALWAYS cause that issue for others. Which makes it harder for a person to realize that they are causing the problems.
best,

PS: I wish FSHost could detect ports automatically and "kick" anyone with por problems.

Paul,
funny you mention this. Every time I check the online status during the day I'm hoping you're on (Been a while since I've enjoyed a nice, calm flight with you English bloke
). When I don't see you or anyone else on, I don't go on myself.

I love going on Multiplayer at various times during the day...
...but sometimes when I fire up the Sim to go on-line I suddenly realise how much I miss corresponding with Air Traffic Control during the flight in a Multiplayer session!
so....I'm there...flying around....but you just don't see me!...
