Good morning,

I am wondering what is the best way to go with regards to a video card, the GTX 285 or GTX 295 ? Go with a 1 G or 2 G card, SSC or ???  So many choices, so many choices.

If I understand it correctly, going SLI or crossfire has no benefit, is that correct, as least not with FSX ?

    Thanks in advance,

    Larry

SLI or Crossfire sure has no benefit on Flight Sim, that's correct

And i've heard the GTX 295 is just 2x Radeon HD 4870s in nVidia package, and that the GTX 285 is the way to go.

285 and if you use very large res multimonitor the 2GB version will help with key'ing up the frame buffer faster.. otherwiase a 1GB is more than enough

Hi Nick,

I'm planning to run 2 monitors off this card so would the 2 GB be a better fit for me than the 1 G ?

    Thanks,

probably not

Its more about those using the 3 monitor TripleHead2Go units and very high res

Even so, all you get is a faster key'd frame buffer.. no frame rate increase or anything like that..   what that means is panning and other operations see no lag in catching up with a lot of high res monitors in use..

2 typical monitors is childs play for a 1GB card

so no, you dont 'need' the 2GB model however if you play other games it may come in handy. FSX itself wont use it
