Just read about it. Sad. And such a safe aircraft type, no passengers killed in almost 17 years of service. Well, all good things must come to an end.

Air France says they are sure Flight 447 is down. They are MOST likely right. It would be starved from fuel many hours ago. Sad to think that another AF B744 flew this route earlier, and then a TAM A332 flew the same route just a little later..  Cry

I feel cold inside. :S

A debris field has been reported to have been spotted earlier today.  Heard it on the news whilst I was painting the homestead.  Reported to be a slick and about a 3-mile trail.

Very, very sad!

The one thing that gives me chills is the thought that if its catastrophic failure at FL350 or so did not compromise cabin integrity, all those poors souls had a bit of time to fully realize what was going on.

May God be with them, and their loved ones.
