Hello All:
I would like to paint a passenger interior of an aircraft.   The part I would like to paint is the seat.  I have found the map that contains the seat.   I want to paint a different color for each seat in the passenger cabin. The problem is that there is just one seat color. So that means that if I paint that seat, all of the seats in the passenger cabin will be the same color and this is not what I want.

So does anyone know how I can render more seat textures so that I can have multiple color seats in the passenger cabin?

Are there any tools that will allow for creating or rather adding textures. And if so, are there any tutors out there that will explain how to do this?

If the model was compiled with one texture for the seats, then you are only able to have one color for the seats.  Unless the person who modeled the aircraft would see fit to recompile the model in a way so that the seats are all on separate areas of a bitmap.

Thank You for the reply:
I kind of thought so.  Is there a lot of work involved with recompiling a model with more seat textures? Reason that I ask is I am thinking of asking the person who created the model.  However, if there is a lot of extra work or its not an easy thing to do, then I wont bother.

It depends on the modeler and the way they created it, but the short answer is yes: editing a model to do what you are asking is going to be time consuming.  However, I would still try to contact the author.  Most modelers are willing to help whenever they see that someone is interested in their creations.

No a compile thing as such

The modeller would have to re texture map each seat that was to be a different colour.

That part is easy. Select the UVW Map for each seat and move to an empty space on the existing texture, or create a new Material/texture and move the UWV Maps there.

At most it's a half-hour job.

Never said it was hard or would take long, just that it wasn't a compiling issue, also confirming it is something the modellers has to sort Wink

Wouldn't take me more than a few minuets....just add a new seat texture on a map and input the new co ordinates to the relevant parts(FSDS)

Thanks for all the replies.
I guess there is no harm in asking. Anyway, what I like to accomplish is something similar to the following link:

I understand what your asking, however repainting seats with diverse color textures in fs is different. When certain designers put together aircraft, more specifically details such as seats little effort is given. So in fact the model that your trying to edit may not work out.

Factor determining your success.
-Did the designer clone each seat, or individually model each seat with it's own texture? In result the cloned seat would grab what texture it was assigned from the other seat, giving the option to edit each texture individually slim to none.
