If this sounds familiar Smiley.  Had a wild idea to use another drive to carry only FS, leaving the big sceneries on the system drive.  Probably would've worked had I know what I was doing.  The bottom line is my FS, large payware sceneries included, is back on a single system drive and all seems well - except for the 29 'SCENERY.CFG File Error' messages I'm getting when I open FS9.  There are three "Megasceneries" one of which, installed with a shorter file path, gets no messages.  The other two, longer file path, get the messages.  Recommended file paths were used in all three installs.  Neither START-program files nor the scenery.cfg file reveal anything unusual, to this eye anyway, and all are working well in FS9.  So, in order not to be clicking 'OK' twenty nine times each FS9 opening, what should I be doing?  Please don't say "get another hobby" Smiley.

Uninstall and reinstall ALL 29 sceneries! Grin

Seriously:

Try simply removing the installation from the FS registry (Settings-->Scenery Library) and then redoing them.  Make sure you exit FS before you redo the connections, otherwise nothing will be accomplished.

For some reason, two of the Megasceneries had retained their path file F:\ when I moved, or thought I had, everything back to the C:\ drive.  To correct this, I reinstalled them to C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Flight Simulator 9\Megascenery NoCal but was unable to uninstall prior to this because the F:\ drive was history.  Before I install again, should I uncheck (disable) each scenery as I delete it?

Not necessary.  Deleting them from the FS registry should take care of everything.

Chalk up another save.  It all seems so simple when somebody explains and you're wondering 'why didn't I think of that?'
Thanks.

No worries!  It's all down to trial-and-error, along with some luck.  Those of us that have been doing this for a bit have made most of these mistakes at some point or another, and have had to find ways around them.  It's fairly rare when someone comes along with a question we CAN'T answer. Wink
