The Korean War never ended.  Hostilities were paused indefinitely by an armistice in 1953.

Wikipedia

Quote:
The Korean War refers to a period of military conflict between North Korea (officially the Democratic People's Republic of Korea) and South Korea (officially the Republic of Korea) with major hostilities beginning on June 25, 1950, pausing with an armistice signed on July 27, 1953. North Korea has since unilaterally withdrawn from that armistice, having announced its intent to do so on May 27, 2009.

Clinton gives North Korea warning

Quote:
On Wednesday, North Korea said it had abandoned the truce that ended the Korean war, two days after it conducted an underground nuclear test.

It blamed its decision on South Korea joining a US-led initiative to search ships for nuclear weapons, calling it a "declaration of war".

The United Nations Security Council is working on a strong resolution condemning North Korea's actions, including possible punitive measures.

Thank God the UN is working on a "strong resolution"!

I wouldn't worry too much about the current hostilities between North Korea and the free world.

Within the past few years it has become aparent that North Korea has successfully created at least two atomic detonations. The panic this caused was reinforced by North Koreas recent lauch of missiles.

Although many worry, I really find no need to. Firstly, it is actually harder to successfully attach a nuclear warhead to a missile than it is to split an atom. This, strangely, is true.

Also, the missiles that NK has launched in recent years are not capable of storing nuclear warheads. Even if they were, the technology used in the missiles would be classed as obsolete and as a low-threat by the US in the mid-70s, so there is no need to worry at all.

Finally, the detonations detected in NK were very small. Smaller infact than the hiroshima incident.

NK would never dare to lauch a nuclear missile. Currently nuclear weapons from China, Russia and USA are pointed at Pyangyang. Even NK's 'big brother', China, does not agree with their nuclear program.

The war ended in the 1950s and when communism collapses in NK in the next decade, NK and SK are likely to unite. No threat at all.

I think right now the major concern is of them pawning one of thier "products" off to the highest bidder. Those types wouldn't want a missile anyway.

Besides there is enough to worry about with the massive amount of conventional artillery pieces within range of most things important in S.K.

Exactly. The whole "NK will go to war with us over these 'restrictions'" is baloney. They know they couldn't win a war against SK or the US without nukes, and if they did use nukes, NK would soon be a smoking cinder... maybe. That's assuming that President Obama would retaliate a nuked Soul with a nuked Pyangyang.

How many nuclear weapons do NK have anyway?

They have detonated two, so we don't really know how many. At the moment, they may have none.

that just made me chuckle

as has been said, NK are just teasing, they know they would not be able to handle anything that came at them should they attempt to attack SK or launch a nuke at anyone. but kim jonj il  is so wonrey!

NKorea threatens US; world anticipates missile

Quote:
SEOUL, South Korea – North Korea threatened Wednesday to wipe the United States off the map as Washington and its allies watched for signs the regime will launch a series of missiles in the coming days ...

"If the U.S. imperialists start another war, the army and people of Korea will ... wipe out the aggressors on the globe once and for all," the official Korean Central News Agency said ...

I'll wager Hawaiians are preparing for a nuclear attack the same way Floridians prepare for a hurricane - stock up on liquor.
