Good evening

I'm looking for some suggestions for a computer case that will have good air flow, room for expandability and room to incorporate a  cooling system,........ most likely a full tower.

I'm also thinking about using a 1000W PS. Looking for suggestions on one of these also.

     Thanks in advance,

      Larry

How much you got??

What are you looking to spend?

Cuz we can start at 600-700 bucks and go down from there.

Anything under 200 and its going to be flimsy crap

Hi Nick.

I would like to say " money is no object " but that would be a lie.

I was thinking in the $400 to $600 range. I don't mind spending for quality.

    Thanks,

This monster will handle it all.. liquid, fans, rails, PSU's, drives, .. you can even fit the kitchen sink in it

see the circuit cards in the drive bays? http://www.abs.com/graphics/images/canyon_695-11.jpg Thats a fast port hot-swap for SATA drives.. no cables needed, just slide them in and their online. Of course the cables connect from the card to the motherboard

I've been happy with Antec cases and power supplies - they address the noise factor as well as cooling, and ease of use. Not as sexy as Nick's maybe, but not as pricey either.

AMD 64 X2-5200, NVidia 9600GT 512, 2048 DDR, 2x250 GB SATA, Saitek X45, Win XP SP3 (Win7-64bitRC1 and FSX on 2nd HD)

Just a re-branded Lian-Li PC-X2000 -

http://www.lian-li.com/v2/en/microsite4/x2000.html

There are plenty of others from Lian-Li that will do just as good -

http://www.lian-li.com/v2/en/product/product04.php?cl_index=1&sc_index=25&ss_ind...

I’m using the Silver Stone TJ-09 with one of my machines and a Lian-Li PC-A70 with another. As Nick already mentioned the TJ-10/TJ-09 is an excellent case but Lian-Li has them beat with a better hard drive/bay system.

As far as the power supply goes you’ll want to do some research and a good source for PSU info can be found here –

I’m not sure what you’re power requirements are, but as far as a good quality PSU with stable power and fairly low noise is concerned you might want to take a look at this re-branded Seasonic –

I’ve built plenty of systems over the years with Antec cases but they pale in comparison to the quality of Lian-Li or Silver Stone.

As far as their power supplies go they are not all good across the board. The better ones if I remember correctly are re-branded Delta and Seasonic PSU’s.

A horizontal Desk-Top Case sitting beside my Keyboard and Monitor, and far away from a dusty floor/carpet, etc...

..none of this crawling about on hands an knees on the floor, in semi-darkness, trying to fiddle with things in a Tower!...Wink...!

..and another benefit of a Horizontal Desk top arrangement...all the heat from the individual components rises clear away, vertically.....not accumulating upwards, and adding the the heat of all the components mounted above them in a Tower arrangement!.... Wink...!

Imagine what the poor-old Power Supply Unit at the top must be suffering!... Shocked...!
