Hi all,

New to the forum but been lurking round the site for years. Got into repainting Tim Conrads Grumman AA5 which is what i've been doing lately.

Anyway, fancy painting something different. I downloaded Aerosofts Twin Otter paint kit and ran into two problems,

1. Aerosoft only make their paint kits for Photoshop ( Someone kindly gave me a version thast works in PSP) which leads me to
2. I can't seem to read more than 9 layers and there are 16 on some of these textures.

I'm using PSP 7.0 and i'm wondering if it can only read 9 layers or do i need to get a newer version?

New version time, son.  I use PSP X2, and remember using PSP 7.  The differences aren't that many, but what there are make for some interesting times.  It shouldn't be too much to upgrade, but I would put away about $100 US to get it.

i've got to ask, do you have a lot of other apps running while you're using PSP?
I've had up to 25 layers working in psp7. it does start to slow down after about 15 though.

No i don't have anything else running. I just click on the texture, it opens in PSP and only nine layers show up. Travis might be right though, might be time to dust off the wallet and get my credit card out. It's not like my system hasn't got enough ram to deal with it either so its not hardware related

Are they actual layers or are they groups of layers?

Are you SURE that the image HAS all 16 layers?

Without knowing the details, it may be that during the conversion, some layers may have been merged or lost?

The advantage of upgrading your PSP version (and I've had all since PSP 1.0) is that the latest versions read Photoshop (*.psd) files a lot better.
