I have recently bought a new desk and this one doesn't allow my computer to sit up on it. I have put my pc next to the desk but then i realised that my speaker is also directly next to that.

Speaker = 10 inch. centre of speaker is approx 50cm off ground.
(i have moved the speaker 20 cm across since i realised its a big magnet near my pc) the speaker is enclosed in its wooden case.

is it safe to move the speaker right next to the pc again or will it wreck my pc/wipe my HDD?

Unless it is a Led Zeppelin speaker column you should be okay... you can always get some lead plates to shove between them if you're feeling very paranoid Grin

The speaker (and probably the HDD too) should be 'shielded' and therefore any electromagnetic, or just magnetic, interference should be reduced and no problems should occur.

I believe technology from atleast the past 5-10 years should have this and anything older might, but probably not as likely. I've had a speaker beside my Xbox 360 HDD for a while and no problems have arised because both should be shielded.
