Well, umm, lemme see. How about what I said out loud when I saw it.
Fantastic! Wow!
Edit: I went back and looked at it some more and said, "how the #%$& did he do that?" That has to be one of the best edits I have ever seen. Tell us how you did it, pretty please?
If God intended aircraft engines to have horizontally opposed engines, Pratt and Whitney would have made them that way.

Outstanding edit!
That paint job is killer!!
If I may, the rain overlay is a little strong, may want to fade the layer just a tad more, but still stunning.
Are you using Flood for the ground water?
Keep at these, you're quickly becoming one of the better at this.

Thanks Shane. I did use flood for the ground water. I see what you mean about the rain... but with how wet the ground is, I wanted the rain to look heavy.
that flood program is really cool! Gonna have to play with it some more!

Many, many, many layers! I'll go down the list of things I did, so long as I remember them all.
-Used the addon "Flood" for the water effect, adjusted to give a rain hitting the ground look
-High pass filter to sharpen image
-slight blur, then 2 layers of ocean ripple distortion for the heat haze effect (1 and 1 for the settings)
-in a completely separate canvas, made a long white triangle to make my taxi light. reduced opacity as well as blurred the edges to make them appear softer. Used the eraser tool with about 30% flow. Also used the twist/skew tool to get the light beam where I wanted it
-added in 2 layers of the rain effect, along with slight motion blur and twirl distortion
I've been working with atleast 2 background copies that way if I mess up something bad, I have the other one to try again with. And for every new effect I do, I use a new layer on top of the background layer.

Thanks. You're hard work really paid off on this one.

Why not? That's the engines heat blur... and if you were to look at a real photo, the planes and buildings would have that blur.

Ah, ok, didn't think about the heat-blur - though it looked some kind of strange...
