I just thought I would throw this out to you gifted designers, thinkers etc.
Thought it might be kool to have alternative aircraft and worlds as a FSX function.
Not sure if it's possible, feasible but I know it is doable... not by me, but many of you.
Hope I did not intrude on your inventive expression, cause what do I know; nothing about this.

This is something William Ortis from
Lionheart Creations
posited before FSX was ever on the market. He said we could change all aspects of FS9 to match any world we wanted. What he wanted to do was to change everything, including the gravity, to match Mars. Theoretically, this is all possible. Unfortunately, the amount of time it would take is enormous. Essentially, we would have to take everything that the original FS team created and chuck it out the window and start over. Complete restructure of the textures alone would be a monstrous task. But it is plausible, and if there were enough people wanting to do it, it could possibly come to fruition some day.

Just thought it would be kind of unique. I didn’t necessarily mean any of the known planets, but alternative universes, planets etc. Flying craft could be different - anything that Hollywood can do sim creators can do. Yes it probably would be a huge task but just thought I would see what’s possibly going on.
About flying on Mars... Well I'm a newbie and just landing on a runway or near one is a great accomplishment for me lol

There was talk a few years back of doing a Middle Earth scenery from Lord of the Rings, but it never went anywhere. That would have been cool...

IT's a practical issue as well. MS Flight Simulator was meant to simulate atmospheric flight - and at that, "normal" flight regimes - no real supersonics, let alone hypersonics, etc. Even the helicopter flight envelope was kludged. As long as you keep to a nice normal winged airplane - no fancy swing wings, etc, you're all right.
Of course, the user community over the years has pushed the envelope and come up with work arounds. But they remain workarounds. The fact of the matter is you can't have mixed engine types, no more than four engines, etc etc.
