Shame I didn't know about that. Brighton is only a few miles from here. I could have had a nice day out with the camera for nothing courtesy of my free bus pass.

Cute cars -- though the old Mini & new mini are 100% different cars ... new Mini is a BMW with the original mini 'concept' design idea ... Are they still making that old mini? If so who's making it? I know it was still being made a few years ago (I'm sure it has stopped now)
A bit like the new Rolls Royce - which is also in fact a BMW, as they purchased the right to use the RR name on cars - but the RR factory was bought by Volkswagen which now only makes Bentley cars there (& finished at the Audi factory Germany) ... confusing? Nooo ....
Think Global. It's the world we live in.

Aren't the new Mini's being made in Mexico or something of the sort?

That's possibly true for the export models. According to this Minis are still being built in the UK.

John Cooper's garage & showroom were at Ferring which is 5 minutes walk from where I'm sitting. You could get a brand new original Mini-Cooper there until recently. He sadly passed away a couple of years ago & the garage is now empty.
