I am a extreme fs enthusiest and enjoy avsim , simviation , ect...
as much as the next person , but today I had more time to read through the forums on many sites about this and have come to understand that phill the owner of Simfly.eu a community that I
am proud to be a part of is being accused of , no persicuted for
destroying avsim? BULLPUCKY !! this guy has went out of his way
create a online communite for everyone free of charge to fly together
I will not think for one second that phill would do this  This was probrably a system malfunction . There would be no gain for phill to trash the very thing around that his site was created around .  Just shamfull
that people would accuse someone so involved with the fs commuity Cry

No one is accusing him of killing AVSIM.. that is just buzz brought on by he masses reading what happened with email data.. and the fact that AVSIM went down right after he was fired for taking that data and using it for spam

however the misappropriation and misuse of private email data from the AVSIM system is pretty much in his lap and there is no way around that one.

Hes not as squeeky clean as you might think but that still does not make him responsible for the other

You're getting him confused with Peter Dawson, who made FSUIPC Wink

It seems that the outpouring of support of AVSIM has been nothing short of amazing. At the time of this posting, a news story on AVSIM is actually in the top 10 most popular news stories on the BBC's website:

I don't think there is anything that you can't get elsewhere. Except 1000's of repeat repaints and maybe a few sceneries.

This was no hack - it was a system failure brought on by bad management and now being used a publicity stunt by the well known spammer Allensworth.

If Allensworth knew how to run a web server this would never have happened.
Period.

STOP THE SYMPATHY!!

Anyone who sympathises with avsim is simply a moron!!

...I am wondering if the BFU (Bush Flyers Unlimited) scenery, etc, downloads, which seemed to be exclusive to Avsim, can be obtained elsewhere?

Alaska Bush Scenery.

A number of our Members use it.

It was almost a separate Avsim Site all of its own!

Obviously...

It's equally obvious that you never spent much time looking at either the forums or the library. Not only was there a huge number of files that were exclusively in their library...

...more critically there was an priceless accumulation of developer information there covering the past decade of FS development.

Those who only think of themselves and their own petty concerns are the ones most likely not to understand the tragedy of loosing such a resource.

Ninety percent of the time, any question a developer might need an answer to would be found in the vast archive of data in the devoleper's forums.

Over the past ten+ years, hardly a day has passed where I didn't spend at least an hour researching some question either for myself or on behalf of another person who needed help.

if I were you striker ,I would modified that post ,no just because It might be deleted ,also because you might earn for that opinion among some members in this forum.
not all the people thinks the same ,Some people like Avsim ,some others not ,but also as Bill says has important documents as I do In FFDS which I use all the time in the past 4 years ,tutorials etc, (I would be lost if something happen to FFDS)
We have to respect others opinion and to be cautions on what we post
I say If I don't have anything nice to say, Don't say anything ,unless I been under attack then I will defend ,but in this case please let the people say what they want to say and express their feelings about it.
