The Virgin Blue Virtual Group is pleased to announce a new interline agreement. Passengers travelling on Virgin Blue's new Long Haul arm, V Australia, can now seamlessly transition to domestic flights in Los Angeles, thanks to a new agreement beetween V Australia and Delta. Delta passengers can transfer from any city and change seamlessly into Virgin Blue's Australian domestic network.

"This interline agreement replaces the old agreement with Northwest Airlines, which has been merged into Delta Airlines." Commented VB Group Virtual CEO, Johnathon Neilsen. "This agreement gives our passengers more flexiblity and choice when it comes to flying beetween Australia and the United States. Passengers can book flights to anywhere in the United States or Australia with a limited amount of stops."

Delta will start flying Los Angeles-Sydney from July 1.

When asked about the swine flu pandemic Neilsen commented "The Swine flu is a tragic incident and unavoidable disease. There is not anything anyone can do to stop it. We ourselves have implemented safety precautionsfor our crew and passengers. The pandemic has affected V Australia's northbound loads to the states, however our westbound flights to Australia seem to be sitting on an average loadfactor of 95%."

Virgin Blue has started services from the northern Queensland city of Townsville using Embraer 170s. New destinatiosn include Rockhampton, Gold Coast, Cairns and Canberra. These services will operate alongside VB's exsisting network which includes Brisbane and Sydney. Canberra has also scored some new services, with Virgin Blue starting Canberra-Hobart, Adelaide and Townsville. "We expect that with these new flights, we can attract people that normally have to travel to hubs for these flights, we hope with our direct services we can increase our service level to our guests." Commented CEO Johnathon Neilsen.
