Hi there,

unfortunately we had a HD crash last night,
wich also affected the Flightsim Server.
We are currently trying to restore it from a backup.
If this doesn´t work the downtime might be a bit longer
because we are about to move the whole server to
new hardware (we are planning this for quite some time
so the broken HD had a pretty good timing Smiley )
TS still works.
I´ll keep you uptodate.

Sorry,

sam

That sucks!  But at least the situation is in capable hands. Wink

Will the hoplists/ hoplist-status, be affected by the crash?

The backup is relatively new, so IF it works, the hoplists should be save, yes.

That would be nice, I ignorantly did not make a backup copy of a 130 stop hop list Embarrassed.

It would take a little while to redo. Cheesy Wink

I hope the hoplist is saved, I was currently coming second after you Shane and I was well enjoying it. I never thanked you for creating the hoplist, so thanks mate. Smiley

Cheers! Smiley

The current one ends in Honolulu, but I was thinking of taking it into California from there, that would give Fozzer plenty of company during his small prop flights.

I know how much he enjoys having all the little ones around when he's exploring his favorite small, Lago filled airstrips. Grin Wink

Update:

Our headadmin worked hard over the weekend to migrate the server
to our new hardware. Most services are online again.
The game servers don´t have the highest priority at the moment.
I can´t promise anyting but if everything works well,
the Flightsim Server will be back online this week.

So, why does it take longer to bring the FS Server back online ?
The flightsim server is a bit special, because it runs on a virtual
Windows Machine inside Linux. Our old server used VMWare
to do this, our new machine we will use Xen. We have an image
from our old windows but we still experience problems with the
vmware -> xen migration. If the image won´t work, we´ll have to
setup an new windows within Xen. It´s likely that we´ll have to do it
that way. There are still some unknowns with Xen in general. So if
there doesn´t happen something unexpected with the Windows/Xen
Setup, it will be back online this week.

cheers,

sam

The FS Server is back online on our new machine avocado.netfrag.org
(Farewell papaya...)
the server can be accessed as usual. fs.netfrag.org as well as the
webinterface http://fs.netfrag.org/
(http://cockpit.netfrag.org also works)

We did a fresh setup, so it´s not yet configured.
It will just show up as "mysession"
I will configure all the details tomorrow in the late evening.
The hoplist from the old server could be restored.
It´s allready online but I´m not sure if it´s the final version.

If you have a free minute, drop andi a line (our headadmin who
makes all this possible)
"joko [at] netfrag.org"
He worked hard the last days to bring all the services back online Smiley
(this e-mail is not for support questions Smiley )

Thank you for your patience !

cheers,

sam

After Filing a Flight Plan....

.....At the moment, whilst the Flight Plan is open, the normal Green "Status" indicator has been replaced by a  Blue; "?". (Question Mark).

(The Status indicator correctly appears as Red after the Flight Plan has been closed, as is usual).

There is one option I just set active "Autimatically approve flightplan when filed". Maybe that was the reason. Please give me a feedback
if flightplans now work as expected.
