Hello,

Just wanted to show my VectorCraft concept aircraft... I know it's not a actual screenshot, nor is it edited... except for the fact that it was made in photoshop  Roll Eyes ...but I thought this would be the best forum for this (but feel free to move if it doesn't fit)

here it is:

...

I did this as illustration practice... I'm trying to better my technique at drawing using only light and shadows... no lines... i call it 2D modeling  Grin

So far it's only a concept... I thought about making it into a 3D model for FS, but time is an issue right now... anyways, let me know what you think  Wink

BTW, the middle engine is for the tail rotor

Cheers

For some reason, it reminds me of the Serenity in Firefly. Nice textures.

...
If God intended aircraft engines to have horizontally opposed engines, Pratt and Whitney would have made them that way.

Thanks!!

just to clarify, this is not a 3D model... it's an illustration made entirely in Photoshop  Smiley

still, one day it may get it's Z axis  Wink

Thanks for the replies!!  Cheesy

@Krigl, yeah Game Design is awesome!! I couldn't see myself doing anything else... the only bad thing is that most people who take this course are in it to PLAY games instead of MAKING them  Tongue ...and most assignments are group projects  Lips Sealed

What drove me down this path, actually, was the enormous success me and my brother got with the 737 Experience, which was made basically for and with much help from the SimV community, and ended up getting over a million downloads... I realized games were in my blood then  Cheesy ...so, yeah, I thank SimV for my career choice  Smiley

Cheers

Thanks, Andy!  Smiley

Nice comments always appreciated  Cheesy

I just wish FS had proper thrust vectoring to make this thing fly like it should... I don't think it would stick as a helicopter  Roll Eyes

I've been idly theorizing about how this thing would fly... and I was thinking there might be a problem controlling a craft held up by jet power alone...

Turbofan engines have to spool up and down, and there is considerable lag changing engine RPM...

hmm, maybe some kind of real time thrust reverser control... to direct a part of the jet stream somewhere else other than downward... this way it would be possible to leave the engine at a flight normal rpm... much like a helicopter with it's variable blade angle does...
In fixed wing flight mode, the reverser would be completely open and the engine would function as a regular jet aircraft's does

As you can see I'm a little bored today   Roll Eyes Grin

Cheers
